Please help, I cannot use showcase

Please can anyone help me? I have only been using Second Life for a few weeks and I want to visit the locations in the showcase, but I can't get showcase to work at all.

I can get to the Showcase, but when I try moving the scroll bar to scroll through the locations but it won't move at all. I try clicking on a location and nothing happens. I can click between the tabs on showcase to go to different categories but that's about it. Occasionally one of the locations will flash up but usually I cannot teleport there.

All other search functions seem to work fine....

I submitted a support ticket but it was just ignored, I have tried reinstalling the game on the advice of one of the greeters (who was actually really helpful thank you) but that did not help either.

I am on Windows XP Sp3 with 3gb Ram and a Nvidia 9600GT graphics card.

Forgot to mention I did the cache clearing thing too, that did not help.

There are two caches in the SL viewer, network and web. The web cache is the one you need to clear. It's under the Web tab in preferences.

Yeah, they need to slap that around a little more. There is a version you can use in your regular web browser, the "venues" part toward the bottom-middle of the page is kind of what the in-world listing should look like. The trip out there and then to slurl.com and back into SL is kind of annoying, but at least you can check out the places

I had exactly the same issue for several weeks. Never found a solution, but it started working again when I switched to the latest Release Candidate viewer. Might be worth a try.

For what it's worth I'm also using a 9600GT, although I'm on Vista. Don't see what the graphics card could possibly have to do with this issue though.

It's a very intervalistic phenomenon there: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Have yet to figure out what makes it tick. So, no, it's not you. *lol*

I found the release candidate viewer and installed it. It loaded up and I immediately tried the showcase. Everything seemed to work fine, Woo hoo I can finally start exploring rather than just randomly wondering around.

So then I changed my preferences to put the game in full screen mode at my monitors native resolution of 1600x1200. The viewer locked up first time but second time it was fine. I then went to showcase again and....

It was bugged just the same as before and unusable (

I then changed back to windowed mode but the Showcase was still unusable..

*sighs* I think I'll give up for today and go and live my 1st life lol

Showcase is still unusable.

This isn't the most newbie friendly game at the best of times, shouldn't they work on fixing this being as it is what the (utterly too brief) tutorial points you to?

OK, so after a couple of days it stopped working again.

If you use Full Screen mode for SL try using windowed.

Funny part is, I can't see showcase on my main account but I can on my alt.
