Crashing to Desktop when I move

Whenever I make my avatar move about the world, I crash to desktop nearly immediately. I've been plagued by this problem since I started my free trial.

Pentium 4 2 Gig.
512 DDR (I Think it's DDR) RAM
More then enough HD space.
ATI Radeon 8500
Cable Connection

P.S. Assuming this is a fixable problem, would it be possible to roll back my trial? I wasn't able to really give the game a fair try, but I would really like to.

bloodeagle0388@aol.com if any Lindens need to reach me.

Oh yeah, and my Radeon has the Driver set I was instructed to install. Interestingly enough, however, I can do anything that dosen't involve moving, like customizing my Avatar and selecting an object.

I had similar problems in the beta test, I hoped this would have been fixed by now :(

Despite being instructed by the game to move up to Catalyst 3.6, try rolling your drivers back to Catalyst version 3.1. Any better?

Yep, doing a rollback to 3.1 should solve your problem. I had the same problem when I hacked the 3.6 drivers to work with my ATI Mobility (it had 3.1 previously). I moved and the game crashed, I did a rollback and the game worked normally again.

You, sir, need a diet.

Charile (and Logan), due to physics and your sizable belly, each step you took would crash the system as it tried to calculate footpounds per square meter.

I suggest puffed rice cakes and water.

No good. I'm currently running the 3.1 Saphire drivers, same problems. Help, I really want to try Second Life. :(
