Hey. Ive encountered a problem. I keep crashing...
Ive tried many different 3rd party clients. (Emerald, Rainbow, Imprudence, Coolviewer)
they all keep on crashing. Would anyone be able to tell me what can i do. i.e. settings i should change etc.

Im really getting tired of this..

Without knowing anything at all about your system or the details of when you're crashing, I'd guess it's either a bad video driver version or a heat problem...

No, none of that. SL worked fine for me before the latest update.. 1.26..

I run Windows XP professional..

its not my hardware or a heat problem.. because i didnt have issues before the patch.. but now it just keeps crashing when im around alot of people..

It started for me yesterday but not real bad , today its really bad i crash every 2 min or less.just walking or move my cam and poof im frozzen !! i know its not my cpu temp or anything . cleared cache also hoping that would help. Just wondering if it has to do with the rolling restart or something.

Second Life Crashes HP Pavilion
07-11-2009 12:28
Problem:
After SL upgrade
System crashes
Black screen
Later computer crashes
Turn it back on and windows is recovering
This would happen randomly

System Specs:
HP Pavilion 3510nr Laptop
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP 2
Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 2.00 GHz
BIOS HP F.15 5/4/09
4 Gig Ram
300 Gig Hitachi hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS
Internet RCN cable 20 Mbs

Attempted Fixes:
Turned off automatic antivirus updates
conducted Virus scan
Spybot search and destroy
Hijack this
Noticed many executables missing
Wondered about registry – took no action
event viewer
several errors
wondered about "system optimization" done by best buy
errors started on purchase date 2.9.09
Scan and defrag
Hard drive clean up
Windows updates
HP updates
New graphics drivers
Ran driver cleanup software
New bios
Updated more drivers on entire system
Installed SP-2
2 chats with HP
began watching CPU meter
had always been aware of excessive drive activity
installed zone alarm
crashes diminished
freezes and thaws more common
blue screen exception errors
SL was running better but everything else was suffering
IE crashes
Opera crashes
Unbelievable amount of activity zone alarm was reporting
Uninstalled zone alarm
Noticed heavily occupied sims and lightly occupied sims were a problem
Theorized the medium occupied sims were best supported
Translator communicating with internet independently of SL – thought might be problem
Logging on to SL…fan would always go into high speed and CPU meter to 100%
SL says 100% is normal
Computer is so new didn’t think a fan was malfunctioning
Turned off screen saver

any ideas?
Thanks!

Spend about 30 bucks and get a cool pad for your laptop. SL (and any graphics/CPU intensive program) will heat those cramped up laptops in a hurry.
