My viewer has quite literally exploded textures and meshes from everything are just shooting across and blanketing over my screen I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but SL seems to have sort of viral prefectures I can't find so nothing is really changed so I tried reformatting and it still did nothing. I'll try to attach a snapshot so you can see what I'm talking about.

methinks your graphics card is kaput.......However, I'm sure someone more technically enabled than I, can suggest some possible SL graphics fiddling to confirm one way or the other...........

ATI graphics card and you see all full of artifacts? Try disabling VBO in graphic settings.

If, by chance, you accidentally enabled some option -- some of them really do cause some strange stuff on the screens -- then a reinstall MIGHT only fix it if you ALSO manually delete the SecondLife folder where the cache and such are stored. For Windows XP, it is
C:\Documents and Settings\{pc-login-name}\Application Data\SecondLife.

If you want to save chat/IM logs, then just copy those out of the sub-folder with your avi name before deleting the SecondLife folder.

Thanks I'll try that little me. I play a couple game on here (Oblivion with lots of mods and Aion) with nothing strange happening to them and I do have ATI graphics cards two Radeon 9800 Pros. At one point when I first started SL I could also run it with the graphics set to ultra it seems like the program degraded over time.

I tried the command prompt And It did nothing It just said "Application or second life is not recognized as a external in internal command, operable program or batch file." I also tryed searching it and removeing every component I could find as well as useing a differant graphics card. But there still seems to be a unaccessible component that isn't being removed. Also every one of my programs is functioning just fine no problems at all just second life.

I think Boy Lane, above, may have your answer; there is a long-standing incompatibility between VBO in SL and certain ATI cards/drivers. A little more detail on how to turn this off:

In SL, go to the Edit menu, choose Preferences, go to the Graphics tab, check the "custom" checkbox. Now go to the bottom of the screen and hit "Hardware Options" Now UNCHECK the "Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects" box.

I hope that does it!

Actually, every viewer and server release seem to use more of our computer resources, so the computer that ran everything fabulous 2 years ago, will sometimes only barely run SL now.

And all of this can be done before actually logging in to secondlife -- you just need the login window up.
