Hi guys,

Whenever I pan my camera around, change my view or anything like that my SL client freezes up for a few seconds. Mighty annoying, I tell you!

When this happens, my Harddrive starts working. it stops when I'm done turning or whatever. My bet would be that SL stores the map/object info of the current sim on the hard drive and not in the RAM. And that when I change my view it needs to load the data from the HDD to the RAM/VRAM.... If this is the case, isn't there anything I can do to make it store all the cache in the RAM? I mean, I have more than enough memory, so I don't really see why it should be a problem.

If that's NOT the case.. Then what the hell? What's wrong with it?

Specs:

E6600 @ 3.0GHz
3.5GB DDR2 @ 800MHz
8800GTS 640MB edition, overclocked

oh, and SL uses about 700-1100MB, really seems as if it should store the cache in the RAM.. but who knows...
