its a compaq desktop
um, digging around i found out it has
intel pentium 3 @ 866mhz
512gb rom
and a nvidia geforce 2 gts
i dont understand, when i played back in 06 it ran fine, i came back today and it barley even lets me move

i dont understand, when i played back in 06 it ran fine, i came back today and it barley even lets me move back in 06 it may have run okay........but probably not "fine". That computer will not run SL today. You have about half the RAM you need, half the CPU and your nVidia card is no longer even supported by nVidia. You're lucky to just log in. |

You're lucky to just log in. thank you peggy for being a good sport, i wanted to simulate a real help thread using completely asinine hardware (sigh yes i do own this computer, i use it on my hobby workbench) to petition the reconsideration of "minimum" hardware requirements logging in with this machine is near impossible with the above config, oc the cpu to 1ghz, bump the ram up to a gig, and use a 128mb radieon 9600 and it runs at a pathetic 4-6 fps in a empty sim hell it only took me 3 years to get them to change the word "object" to "prim" on the land info pages, lets see how long this takes |
