Helllooooo forum!!!

All morning my comp has been totally seizing/freezing up during random times playing SL. It can happen within 2 min of logging on, all the way up to 30. Whether i'm standing still, walking, Tping, dancing - doesn't seem to matter. It just freezes a still screen of whatever I was doing on SL - Windows and all. Fans, lights, comp still runs, just everything halts.

Here is what I have tried so far:

Cleared cache and restarted
Run spyware and virus check
Reinstalled a clean version of SL
Updated drivers for video card
Checked comp for heat issues.

Nothing works so far! I am fairly sure it's not my comp, since my friend in SL says shes having the exact same problem this morning. Can anyone offer advice? I have to hard restart by killing the comp switch everytime this happens, and that doesn't sit well with me. My comp specs are as follows.

CPU: AMD (2412 Mhz)
Memory: 2048 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce 7800 GTX/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!
OpenGL Version: 2.0.3
LLMozLib Version: 1.1.0 (Mozilla GRE:1.8.0.10_0000000000)
Packets Lost: 26/10664 (0.2%)

Any help is so appreciated!!!!! <3

O_o dont burn up another pc Lucah, this happen in any other game/prog you can stress your pc with?.

You could test it with something like 3dmark if it dies on you something is either loose, or temp goes way to high when you stress it only thing i can think of.

3dmark2006 (yes its big)

3dmark2005

Also try setting option in preference in SL , way way way low, especially on objects, i can trip my client near flexi prims now -.- (sounds like old toruses bug again)

Yay Thilioooooooooooo!!!! -clings-

SL is the only one its freezing on. I have run a LOT of programs together, PS, Firefox, Sims2, Ares, PSU all at once and so far nothing. FFXI also runs just fine. It's not hot in the box at all. I do hope this is SL and not another bad comp problem, since you and I both know what happened to the last one >_>

Eeek you still play PSU ... O_o

Try opening the pc and push stuff bit down, loose ram/vidcard/pci's could cause it to hang like that.

If you manage to run 3dmark like... 8 times in a row without crashing your pc its definatly not heat stressing pc :o

But i dont see why it only happens when youre in SL though, the games you play are d3d and SL opengl -.- but youre on nvidia shouldnt be such a big deal then.

btw im at some lan party -.- so im kinda slow and deaf ~.~

I'm having a similar problem, however it happens at random and sometimes before logging in. I'm getting a bluescreen with a full system halt. The only way to prevent that is by using Alt+F4 the moment the system locks up to terminate the application.

My belief is that it's NVIDIA's problem, because It's happened in WoW, CS:S, and HL2. If thats the case, we're likely not to get much support from LL because it's a bad Driver. In my case specifically, it's new hardware, and I'm an early adopter. Problems were expected.

Apparently there was a new driver release on April 5th for the 8800GTX (Ver 97.94), I'm going to install and reply within the next few days if the stability issues persist.
