hey everyone! been a while since i've been active but yes i'm still alive. actually i've just been getting back into SL a bit this past week. (getting sucked back that is :P )

anyway i'm trying to narrow down a bug maybe a couple of you can help me. it would be really great cuz this bug is driving me crazy!

have you ever been llPushObject()ed really hard and your client loses sync with SL to where you have to relog? i've been testing and it seems to happen reliably if you set up a pusher that will push you past 2 borders instantly. try to set it up at a corner and have the pusher push you diagonally across the 2 borders. i'm reproducing it 100% of the time but maybe i'm doing something else that i'm not aware of.

you'll know it happened if you can fly through objects, can't edit things, can't attach or detach, can't teleport, your flying through the air off the main map, or anything like that and you can only fix it by relogging.

if you do any tests please post what you find here.

hope to see you in world! :D

Yup, if I ever enter a new sim diagonally with my booster script, I'm off into -241, -23 land almost instantly. Presumably, this is something the Lindens are working on.

Yeah, the problem with hitting the corner of 4 sims diagonally is you have to pass through one sim very momentarily, which seems to cause serious problems.

I have this most often when circling the continent in a jetski and have to make a turn at a spot on the map where the continent makes an inner "corner". I've learned to slow down to a stop after passing one border, wait a few moments, then resume into the next sim.

i think what basically happens is when you move between sims theres a certain amount of time needed to tell the new sim that you're there now, and bring yer assets (as in textures/attachments) etc into the working grid of the new simulator... what can happen though is if you *LEAVE* the new simulator for a third one... before all of your relevant data is sent to it from the first one it messes up.

I think its that the 'game' now assumes you're in the middle simulator.. while your client has you tracked into the third simulator. At that point yer client is going to repeatedly try and 'access' the new third server you see yerself as being in, while the server keeps replying back 'sorry, you're not here' or somethin to that effect since *it* never recieved the notification from the middle sim that you're supposed to be there now
