since today whenever I try to open the SL program, a dialog opens and says "Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed. If you continue to recieve this message, contact customer service."
my laptop is running Vista and using the video card included on the intel motherboard, I have been using SL without problem till today, I haven't done any hardware changes to the computer recently, so why is Second Life so upset that doesn't even let me login?

Go to Windows Update and check optional software available. Your video chipset may have a new driver available. Also check your computer manutfacturer site and see if any drivers are available for your make and model.
Also, did you crash since your last log in? If so the crash may have corrupted your driver.......and a restore might fix it.

SL Was fine yesterday and today I get that my video drivers are outdated. I've even reinstalled the drivers downloaded a new copy of the driver just to make usre it was the most recent (it was) Using a geforce 6200 card everything else is fine... WTF here. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Did either of you go into your video ssettings by any chance and chage the OpenGL "Extension Limit" from off to on?
That will trigger the problem, maybe some other settingsas well. THat settting is srot of a backwards compatibilty mode setting and it makes SL think you have an old, unsupported open gl driver.
There are other reasons it might give that message but that is the only thing that I ever ran into where upgrading a video card or driver was NOT involved.

I enabled 'Extension Limit' then started getting the message and didn't associate the two. Reset to default and SL works again!

I can't login with the new viewer, I get as far as the region handshake then it tells me there's a problem with SL servers or my connection - which seems to work ok with everything else because I can login with the Firstlook Dazzle or On Rez viewers without difficulty .. although the lag in rendering textures when I do login with these viewers has been the worst I have had in a year in SL
Guess I will try some of the suggestions here about checking the drivers
