HI,
Why is it I'm continually being disconnected when I TP to places...its totally un predictable and annoying!
Select a place, takes forever to TP and then disconnects!
any info would be appreciated.

Thanks Tara and Hok,
I don't think adding choice of location to the startup screen is really going to help. Ha I can't remember how to spell half the island names correctly.
It bugs me also to know people are there and you cant get to them. Surely thelindens know about this

I'm having the same problem and have tried logging in different zones at startup. Doesn't make any difference at all, I guess because the entire game is lagged.
This is just awful though. Why promote SL everywhere then not have the servers to support a huge influx of new people?

I just started using Second Life Ver 1.22.11 (113941) yesterday, and 3 years after this thread was started it seems the problem has never been fixed, as I'm getting disconnected whenever I try to Teleport to any region.
If the client can't connect to the new "Teleport" destination, why doesn't it then reconnect to the previous region?
And why isn't there a re-connect / re-login Menu item , instead of having to restart the program ?

Are you running peer guardian? That's your problem.

From: Ponk Bing Are you running peer guardian? That's your problem. No, I'm not running that. I get disconnected even without TP'ing. It will stay connected for ~ 4-5 minutes, then disconnect. I've tried tweaking the bandwidth settings from lowest to highest, doesn't seem to make any difference.
