I seem to be unable to download clothing or animations in my home region. The affects all residents who log on from my real-world home, multiple computers, multiple operating systems, multiple viewer versions. We have cleared cache on all affected installations without success. Things seem to work fine in any other region. Items in cache work fine, and other residents see us animate properly. Clothing items return "cannot find in database" errors, but moving to another region makes the item magically available again. Objects, including prim clothing, textures, and scripts, seem to be unaffected. Animations are affected whether they're in our own inventory or in objects.
Anyone have any recommendations, or care to speculate why only certain asset types are affected?

A region restart might fix it.
This sounds worthy of a support ticket - make sure to mention right at the top that multiple people get DB errors in this one region but not in others.

Got a support ticket open... several of us do... but I expected my fellow residents to be, as always, more responsive.

A 'region down' ticket usually gets their attention more quickly.. Not totally an accurate description of the problem but it doesn't sound like it's much better than 'down' anyway, so you could probably get away with it.
edit: and, if you're premium/concierge, do a live chat with them and ask for a restart.
edit edit: er.. mainland, right? If we're not talking about the mainland here, you probably need to talk to your estate manager/owner and get them to restart it.

Region has been restarted (it's a private region but I'm an estate manager) without change.

I missed the bit in your OP that this is only from your RL home network.. Have you tried power cycling your router & modem? Do you see any better luck with wired connections vs wireless connections? Er.. Maybe check your firewall settings too, but that seems like a bit of a stretch if it's only one sim that has the problem..

Tried all that you suggested; everything from the wall to the screen was checked and alternate paths tested where possible. A second region restart finally did the trick; the first did not change the physical server the region was running on, but the second did, and all seems to be well again. Thanks, Meade, for your help and advice.
