Htae that it's happening to you so here;s a few things to try. You can try upgrading your video card driver unless you did already. Secondly all I can tell you is try restarting the compiter, if that won't help then try redownloading the client. Lastly if all that fails, just completely uninstall the client and do a full redownload and full reinstall. I've had to do almost all of those things at one time or another to get this thing to work right at various times. I also think 128 mb cards work best, but I could be wrong.

ihN -

My best bet for what's causing your crashes is probably outdated AGP drivers for your motherboard, those can often causes crashes and other issues. There are some relevant articles in the Knowledge Base which should be able to help you out.

If you continue to have problems, let me know exactly what hardware configuration you have, if possible (the specific motherboard you're running is often useful.

Also, ATI's have their SmartGART control panel, it may be worthwhile to try turning down the settings that it's using, especially in regards to AGP to see if it reduces the problems you have.

Also, there are some known rendering issues with the latest ATI drivers (3.4), you may have better luck sometimes with the Catalyst 3.1 drivers.

Let me know if any of this helps...

hey thanks
I used smartGART to turn my agp down from 4x to 2x and turned fast write off and it worked!
I know this may sound kinda stupid but, How do I find out what kind of motherboard I have? Had my computer awhile so I probably need some kinda update on it. thx

Hmm, the best way to find out what motherboard you have if you don't know is to either:

a) Open up your computer and look at the board

or

b) Use something like Dr. Hardware or SiSoft Sandra to find out what chipset you're using...

There's some info in our Knowledge Base that may be useful as well...
