Problem With Frame Rate

i have no idea what cause this... i have a high end gaming PC and im getting like 0.1 fps... the game is literly unplayable... its also good to mention that i JUST got SL and i have no idea how to fix this.

Probably a little of that but I think mostly it's people who, for whatever reason, get a "high end" or gamer rig, turn it on and expect miracles to happen with any program they happen to launch. It never enters their mind that it's a machine that runs on software which requires the correct hardware along with the correct drivers in order to accomplish those miracles. So they slapped down a couple grand on the latest, greatest, fastest and bestest........but they don't know how to maintain it. And how dare we ask for specifics about their machine........it's a gamer rig, don't we understand? That's all that needs to be said............but they are having the problems, not us.

I've said it before and always wind up lying to myself..........I ain't going to even try to help someone who refuses to give specs and be specific about what problems they are having. If they can't abide to that very simple and reasonable request then they can figure it out on their own. SL has it's problems.........the users and the users' computers along with the individual setups have many more.

Assuming your PC is relatively new with a good graphics adapter (Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 9600GT or better) I'd start by looking at the drivers. Make sure your motherboard drivers are up to date. If you have an ATI CPU, check ATI's web site for patches.

If you have an Nvidia graphics adapter, update to the latest drivers. ATI can be more finicky about drivers, depending on your adapter. The newest drivers may not be the best for older cards.

If you're running Linux, install the proprietary ATI or Nvidia graphics drivers, not the ones that came Linux.
