Ugh... I was using grid and aligning my clocks when I noticed some major bugs with the building system.
I had the object rotated, but its local x axis was parallel to the global z axis (moving on it moved the object up and down). I commonly work in Local Axis mode, with Snap to Grid on. I had my grid set at .125, and when I shft-dragged one of my clocks upward, it went totally out of alignment with the grid, almost as much as .1 meters! There's a picture of the result of one of these shift-drags. As you can see, the clock in the middle is perfectly aligned with the clock below it (I had to manually set the numbers). I shift-dragged the middle clock up, and the top clock was *that* much off the grid. It even showed in the edit window that the numbers weren't multiples of .125. The middle clock was at an *integer* height, so the top clock, if snap to grid was working, would have been as aligned as the bottom clock.

Did you bug report it in game?

Yeah, that's happened to me since I first used SL a year ago. Annoying, isn't it?

It is a pain... my solution... no grid! and manually set the numbers! Plus rreenter the rotations by hand. You see an INT but it it stored as a float! so when you see 0 it might be 0.3. So setting everything by hand worked for me!
Oh and wtf, stuff moves by itself! I set it.. come back and it's off by 0.002! what the hell?! what's up with that?

Gremlins.
Or short cat-people. =D
I hit this bug last night. I was also in local axis, so I assumed it was a local-context grid movement. I thought "cool", but I gave it no further thought nor did I verify that was what it was doing.
It'd be nice if we could have a feature that worked on a "local grid". For example, if my grid size is 1.0 and my object is at x-coord 111.25 and I move it east one grid tick while in "local grid" mode, it'd be at 112.25 instead of 112.0.

How about this? I have 2 buildings on top of Kissling that shrink every day. Either that or the plots of land they sit on are getting bigger. (though I doubt that, everything seems to be reduced since 1.2)
When I placed these buildings, just pre-1.2, they fit right to the curb of the street, but everyday I found myself stretching them back to the curb. I gave up now and pretty soon they will probably downsize to extinction (by the 12th anyway). Several bug reports have gone unanswered as the Lindens are probably too busy figuring out how to get more money out of the new customers rather than offering a stable product to their existing paying customer base. Sorry, had to get that dig in...

ROFL, I'm an idiot. Is this a result of the same bug I reported a few months ago (which they are aware of)? Lemme find the link to that thread.... It's named "Building Bugs! Die! Die! Die!" (don't you love my subject lines?) and Dan Linden explained a workaround. /111/f8/7201/1.htmlNot sure if it's the exact same problem or not, I'm too lazy right now to read this whole thread.

Yup, that's the one. It's been around for at least a year.
