Strange Permissions change after copying a prim.

I have noticed recently that when a copy of a prim is made by a group member, the parameters show that the original prim is no longer owned by the creator/owner and sits where it was originally made, unaccessable/unchangable by its creator. The copy, meanwhile, has become the root.

The upshot of this is that the "copier" has all the rights of the creator and the creator can do nothing with the prim left at the location! Very dangerous situation!

Any one else seen this? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Actually, it's always been that way, if you use "shift-arrow" to make the copy. The original one is moved, and the copy is left in its original place, owned by whoever made the copy. Way to mess up a linkset, yes? Thank you LL!

If you use ctrl-D to make a copy, the original prim remains where it was, and the copy is nearby, slightly offset.

Oh, and, condolences on the first name! *smiles*
