i have a GTX 275 with 1792 Mb of video ram... and total video ram available is 5734.... i have been able to select up to 2056 MB of video ram for SL to use under the hardware options tab. but after installing my new card i can only select 512 megs of ram. and when i load SL it tell me i do not meet the minimum requirements for SL now.

using the newest Nivida beta driver....

i think its because SL doesn't even suport this card yet.. but i would like to know if there is a way to get SL to use the Vram i have. a work around or something.

my setup

Intel I7 920
9g Gigs DRR3 1600 7.7.7.24
eVGA X58
GTX 275 1.7 gig.

LL put a cap on the amount of VRAM the viewer can use, a few updates ago. They had found that after the first 512MB there were diminishing returns. The viewer would actually run worse when trying to use 1024MB than it would when trying to use 512. Until that changes, no one can use more than 512, no matter how much "extra" you've got on your card.

If you want to use an older viewer, and crank it up, go right ahead. But I think you'll find a newer viewer set to 512 will work much better.

Nice system, by the way.

alright dude... hum. you figure with my system i should never get any video lag. but i still see 10 or less FPS in some instances... i was hoping more Vram would fix this but i guess i will have to deal with it :P
