Problems when I shut down the computer.

I recently installed SL on my new laptop computer and other than the programming runnning a little slow, I have not had any problems with it. (I know...I REALLY need to do the video driver updates!) The only problem that I seem to have is that after I am done and quit the program and go about my other business, when I turn off the computer I get the blue screen and a crash. This is after I have already quit and shut down the SL program. It never did this before I installed the SL program. Is it as simple as reinstalling the program, or is it something more?

Hi, Samantha, welcome to the forums. This is odd, personally I've never heard of it before. A couple of questions: How much memory does your laptop have? And, does it crash immediately, as soon as you close SL, or do you go off and do other things, and then it crashes at some random time later?

SL's client is plagued by memory leaks, and they seem to be more severe in recent versions. Leaked memory will not be restored to the system when SL shuts down, so a program you use afterwards could cause your Laptop to crash, feasibly.

You could also be suffering from heat build up, SL's platform does require a lot of CPU, GC and HD usage, this causes increased system heat.
