Okay, SL is broken, horribly broken. I think that is about time that a linden comes onto these forums and tells us what they plan to do to fix all the problems. People are losing time, work and effort and some people cant even play due to the issues that are currently plauging the grid.

Its not right for LL to sit back and not tell us what is going on or what they are doing, if anything, to fix it. So if LL have indeed any respect for the people that are putting time and effort into SL, they will respond to this and let us know what is going on.

In RL this is what happens when a company grows too fast. Often the customer base gets frustrated and eventually leaves for the competition.

Competition which as yet isn't properly off the ground yet, but when it does takeoff (and if their claims of being able to support 1000 people per sim are to be believed) it'll be very healthy for us the consumer. Until that time our addiction is at their mercy.

Having said that, I never experience anything like the problems some people have here. My teleporting works nearly all the time, I just tried tping 3 different places, 2 mainland and one private island, went through fine.

Having about 5K inventory, never lost an item, things running pretty smooth right now.

But the fact people with even higher spec machines and connections than I have such terrible problems does highlight a huge inconsistency with the second life experience. It just doesn't seem to be that multi-computer friendly, which is a shame.

And that side of things DOES affect me, because I run a shop in sl now and customers can get badly affected if transaction problems arise (thankfully hasn't happened yet!, touch wood).

Yes seems the ISP also is pretty critical, was talking to people the other day who are on the same ISP and had the same problems on one of the budget plans.
Also have heard people sprouting how SL's is down, it's at their end and then later mentioning how good their work or freebie ISP is. According to one blog poster SL was apparently totally bjorked, nobody could log on, Hmm I saw 18,000 people online and was still logging in on diallup (abiet with all sorts of problems) and chatting to people from Australia.
Others tell me I'm being ripped off by paying an extra $30 per month for the same speed and they only have their ISP go down a couple of times a month, my reply "explain to me this concept of internet going down, I've never seen it in 6 months with this ISP."

It does seem to dislike some people machines/virus software etc, mine is only a midspec games machine, near 12months old, I suspect some people ar using 2 to 3 year old ofice machines still.

Only thing I've noticed lately is with over 25,000 online I can only run 2 characters at once online instead of 3.

Well bully for you. Im glad that you can play the game with no problems. It doesnt change the fact that there are a hell of a lot of people out there, with decent machines like mine, who cant cuz its broken.
