i just downloaded the new 1.4 after having the internet redone and i go to start sl everytgings fine then it goes cannot run in 1024x768 mode will run in window mode so i click ok but it doesnt come up, does any1 knmow how i can get onto my fav game in history,

I had a similar problem when I was using windows 98...

It might be a video driver issue

honestly, with win98, I couldn't... I ran in windows mode and maximised. When I installed WinXP, the problem just went away, there was no special trick.

Nobody is going to be able to tell you in a forum posting how to put Windows XP or Windows 2000 on your computer. It's too complicated. Either 2000 or XP is required for Second Life. If you have the money you can take your computer into a computer shop and have them upgrade it. But if it is from 98 or before it's bound to make more sense just to buy a new computer.

nik -- look at Microsoft -- this page is the main page for Windows. If you look at the different versions on the left, you can see where Windows Me comes in.

But, yeah, I'd definitely check with your local computer shop about buying a new computer. I'm not sure you *can* upgrade Windows Me to XP.

Most people here use proper grammer with proper capitalization. If you don't, most people here will think your underage. I learned from experience.

i wouldnt know anyway how to upgrade from me to xp if my live depended on it so rlly thats a good thing that i cant upgrade, lol, i was thinking of buying a new p.c at christmas time but now mighr need 1 sooner
