Where can I go to find out more about the Rating System. I am recently aware that the rating system depends on 3 items which are profile picks, land traffic, and group numbers. I would like to know how much each one weights for your overall rating. I am also told that the group numbers go by the group that your land is set up under. I have a group for my land under which only the owners are listed and then a group for my store updates which is huge but not the group my land is under. How can i switch this over easily so that all the members of our update group will help with our rating? We have our land on auto return and would like to keep it that way. How can I easily make the transition without having to change every item of my land to a different group or turn off auto return. please advise

Amount of members in a group which owns land will not affect that lands search relevance.
If you are not referring to search please reply back to clarify. There is currently no system in SL referred to as "Rating" for land, so I may be misunderstanding you. |

Hey Dante - according to what I have read there are 3 items that effect the rating.
Profile Picks, Traffic, how many avs are in your group. What I read and was told is that these 3 items help to bring your Ads up higher on the searches. I have been unable to find this information on the second life web site but i see the information in world with the people selling the profile pick products. Yes, It is search I was referring to. |

Where is this rating seen or used?
Are you talking about how search results are ordered? _____________________

Yes Picks affect search rankings.
In order of importance: 1. Relevance to the search query. If I search for "Tom's Shoes" then Tom's Shoes should be on top of search regardless of how many Picks, land traffic, or other factors that other shoe stores might have. SL search runs on google's search appliance product. 2. Picks. Land Picks in Residents profiles affect Land search rank. 3. Land Traffic. This has mostly been phased out, it does not affect search much and is planned to be removed. Search is not "Ads". Search is desinged to provide relevant results. There is not much you can do within the design to effect your lands relevance. And this is a good thing, the new search is designed to combat people that try to game the system. |

where did you get this information from? what about numbers in your group? Land traffic does seem to effect our rating so i do not think you are correct in saying it does not effect the search. Can someone give me a link to some place on the secondlife web site that talks about this?
