The knowledge base does not recognize even my nick

I tried to find an answer to a movie making question and went to the knowledge base and entered my nick and password and refused it. So I entered my nick so that it could send me my password via email and it came back as invalid...and yet...on this forum I am recognized. ???
Something wrong with the knowlege base? Are they updating it? Thanks

You have to put an underscore in your name -- SuluMor_Romulus.

I had the same problem a couple days ago, and that was the information I got in the reply.

Hey Lindens -- can you stick this information up on the front page of the KB somewhere? This is *not* an intuitive format for logging into the KB.

hmm... I tried the knowledgebase a while ago, I have no underscores in my name, yet it wouldnt recognise my name & password at all. I think I forgot to send a report on that one

Yeah, apparently now the KB doesn't parse spaces between first name and last name. :P I don't think that this was the case way back when, since I was able to log in before without a problem.

Or maybe I've been smoking crack. :)

This is weird.

Now if I try logging in as "Nergal_Fallingbridge" at the KB login page (NOTNOTNOT the SL 'Resident Life' login page), the scripting on that page crashes *hard*.

Attempting to login as "Nergal Fallingbridge" gets me the familiar 'Login Invalid' page.

I swear it worked just a couple days ago. :p

Lindens! Have the gnomes gotten into the KB?

The gnomes have had a colony in the knowledge base for a very long time now. Specifically, if you look at the KB, then change your SL password, you'll probably never be able to get into the KB again. I think there are some other, more obscure cases that can cause this as well.

I am currently working with RightNow, (who actually runs the KB for us) to overhaul the authentication system, but as with most inter-company engineering work it's like swimming in molasses. I HOPE to have this all fixed next week but can make no promises.

We've just finished re-tooling the knowledge base login system. Everyone should be able to login now - give it a try.

Whee!

Removing the KB login page and sticking with just the SL login page makes it much easier to get in. Thanks for working on this, Lindens!
