48xx series and SL

Well i must say this Vis Tek 4870 GC plays SL smooth as a babys azz... havent had one hiccup.. better than the 3870x2 by a long shot, and better than the 9800 gtx as well, using hte 8.6 drivers for it, with the fan profile tweak and runs just fine.. i hope everyone else has the same results that have this card..

ps.. i have both the nvidia setup and the other ati card,, and this was running on ultra high at29 - 40 fps avg in a populated area more than 10 avs, lol

pps.. And the drivers for the 48XX series are immature still so i can imagine it will get better and will no longer have to use the fan work around.

Not so good for me, a diamond 4870, performs slower than my 8800gts 512 by far and it looks like the atmosphere shaders are majorly hosed. Gets this wierd effect when under water.

Tried with the 8.6 and with the 8.6 hotfix.

Waiting for 8.7 with hope that it improves.
