In-world voice chat not connecting

I'm having troubles with using In-World Voice Chat. I have it enable in my preferences but under local chat the indicator is yellow and I don't see the white dots above the avs' heads. This is on sims that have voice chat enable. I've tried reinstalling an older version of the viewer, uninstalling the viewer completely and nothing seems to work.

You are not alone with this problem. I hope someone posts with an answer, or better tey, help.

I'm having problems with voice too since the new viewer. Anyone got an answer? SL support points you to the Jira which makes no sense and has no answers.

test your voice on skype software 1st before you login to get all your settings correct. they have a test built in.
look to see that your firewall software is not blocking.
turning off fire wall software may not help once blocked always blocked.

Port forwarding, if you have a router. I just had to enable a couple new ports last night. I don't remember them, but they're in the knowledge base

I'm having exactly the same problem, and its driving me absolutely insane! I've tested, and everything is working fine, I've checked my ports, they're all fine. WTF???
