New Laptop

Unfortunately, my house was robbed a month back and so i have nothing really anymore. I'm looking into a new laptop and saw this one and was very interested. Can anyone tell me whether they have had good performance out of this adapter (Nvidia GTS 360m) with secondlife.

That laptop has more than SL needs to run quite well. I don't think you're going to have any problems with it. Make sure you go to nVidia's driver download site and get the most recent driver for you card......your Windows OEM installation will almost certainly have an outdated driver installed. Also, it's a laptop............get a coolng pad. And, if at all possible, avoid connecting wirelessly when using SL (I know, that removes some of the desirability of laptops........but SL and wireless often hate each other).

THe GTS 360m is a pretty good GPU...not quite as powerful as the gaming cards, but it will also run cooler. The screen is pretty low resolution for its size, but that should work in your favor, as it won't make the GPU work as hard as a 1080p screen.

I'd second getting a cooling pad.
