As of the last week I have been having some serious issues with SL graphics. Everything is neon colors and pixels seem to break apart everywhere. I have tried reinstalling the viewer, etc. My graphics card is fine and doesn't need to be updated. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Amali

If you are going to refuse to consider your graphics card as a source of the problem then you are probably not going to solve your problem. It's a graphics issue....or so you said in the title of this thread. What other hardware device inside your computer would more likely to be the sourse of your problem? You going to try to tell me or us that's it's SL? When a few other have had "graphics issues" in the past and every time it comes down to a setting, driver, or damaged device.........nowhere near the number of people who would that exact same problem SL. This is is simply not the case.

First, some computer specs would be order..........don't you think? We don't know what you are trying to access SL with unless you tell us.

My suggestion as it stands right now (regardless of whether or not you agree) is to check for a more current driver. And, if you are using an ATI card, go to preferrences > graphics > hardware > and uncheck Vertex Buffer Objects (VBO). If you are using nVidia that should not be necessary. If you are using Intel..........that chipset is not supported and will only work with a lot of tender loving care.

Specs will help, but you can first reinstall the driver and then stress test your GPU.

Driver reinstall:
1. Download but do not install the latest driver from the chipset manufacturer, not the card vendor.
2. Download the SL client.
3. Download Driver Sweeper at http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/
4. Reboot into safe mode.
5. Uninstall SL and delete the cache folder.
6. Run Driver Sweeper and use it to remove your graphics driver.
7. Reboot.
8. Update Windows if necessary.
9. Install the graphics driver.
10. Install SL.

Maybe overkill, but sometimes overkill is just kill enough.

If you want to confirm the graphics card is OK, download Furmark at http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/, get Orthos from and HWMonitor from http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php. First open HWMonitor and let it start recording temps. Run Furmark and watch for errors or spikes. If that runs, than leave HWMonitor running and try Orthos. It has modes to test memory, CPU, or both. Let it run and watch for errors or high temps.

If you can post screenshots showing the problem and your system specs, we can be more specific.

Hmm I thought I did say Thank You. No it's not resolved but I have fixed the color issue, (by unchecking and rechecking avatar cloth) only thing now is the pixels seem to break up, which I am dealing with.

Can you show the broken up pixels in a screen shot?
