Underwater graphics problems

Not sure how long this problem has been going on, but I recently had a Windows disaster, had to reinstall, and download new graphics drivers. I imagine it started then. I know that fairly recently water has been rendered correctly.

I have an Nvidia 6800GT card. Have found that when I go underwater the ground is not rendered, so everything looks black, apart from the surface of the water.

When I unclick 'Basic Shaders' from the Graphics page, the ground is rendered, but then water looks horrible from the surface.

Could this be a fault in my graphics card, or does it look more like a driver issue? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

It's not a problem on your end :).

It's a bug in Windlight's occlusion culling. Depending on which version you're running you'll see a few issues with culling and water, or culling in general (whole bunch of prims you weren't looking at just now but that were there a few moments ago will suddenly vanish).

Oh, that is a relief. Mind you, I have used two versions of sl and I am getting the same problem in both of them.

It will be a relief if it turns out to be just another sl bug, and not my card.
