Login Failed?

Ok, I want to know why is says 'Login Failed: The System is logging you out right now. Your account will not be available until 2008-06-04 19:30:14 Pacific time'.

Is this a ban, and if so, do they give you warnings or tell you why?

Is this some kind of technical issue thats affecting other accounts?

When you're banned, the message is different.

More like 'This account cannot be accessed until XXXXXXXXX"

It seems the same as the normal borkiness, but is slightly different.

Anywho, the message you saw just meant the system was catching up and your account hadn't fully been signed out yet for whatever reason. Occasionally this will happen for a while and be a symptom of a stuck-in-world avatar. If you see that message for more than about 10 minutes, use an alt or have a friend see if your character is still online. If so, you'll want to go through live chat immediately to get it resolved. Tickets take too long. And they CAN resolve it fast, you just have to get them to come and fix it.

it's a common occurance if you have crashed and attempt to log back in shortly after the crash. In that case your avatar may be "ghosted" and you cannot log in until it is logged out. That is the time frame SL gives you in order for the servers to log your avatar out due to a crash. The ghosted avatar, on rare occassions, may be semi perminantly ghosted.....in that case follow Kiera's suggestions. Sometimes........actually, often.............it's just a borked log in for whatever reason. Just hit connect again and you'll likely get logged in. I've had to do it a few times but I never wait the minutes they tell me to.

If your account has been banned you get a different message all together..........something along the lines of "the account cannot be accessed from this computer".
