Ok this has happened to me a couple of times now. At first I thought it was a fluke and now Im just not so sure so Im posting it.

During play my keyboard will occasionally lock up. This only happens while playing SL. I dont recall the details of last time but this time I was not running any other programs and did have backround (ie virus) software disabled. I HAD been idle for some time and had recently returned so Im wondering if its related to the posting regarding a possible memory leak?

I cannot recover from it, it is not lag related and my mouse still is fully functional. I end up having to log & reboot. It does make my keyboard non functional for all programs thereafter.

I run P4 2.53GHz with XP and 512ram.

Have you tried reinstalling the client lately (making sure all the old files are scrubbed)? Also, SL clutters the HD pretty quickly, so defragging should be done fairly frequently. That sort of thing used to happen to me, esp. back when I was running at a draw distance of 512...(hey, I didn't know better...lol :P)

Also, I've noticed that if you're going to be afk for more than a few minutes, it's best to dial down the draw distance to 64...this seems to cope w/ the memory "leak." I run a 2.4 P4 w/ 512 of ram.
