SL crashes from other programs

When im on SL i also like to use MSN and for some reason sl will constantly crash all my friends use MSN at the same time and never crash can you please help me out with the problem PLEEEEEEEEEEASE its getting really really old.

Maybe your PC is not so good so it can't handle the both.

SL uses a huge amount of your computer resources. A lot of computers struggle with what SL requires of them but, without other programs or processes taking what they require from your computer, SL will run okay for then. Open one program too many and all bets of off.............something is going to crash. It might be that your computer cannot handle anything else while SL is running. About the only thing you can do (besides getting a more powerful machine) is to shut down some of your non essential background programs leaving only the necessary running.......things like those email checkers, Skype, that cute little game from Facebook, twitter, those RSS feeds, etc. Without some of those (or similar) programs maybe you can run SL and MSN at the same time......but probably not.

You'll find that MSN, Yahoo and the like don't just use CPU resources, they also use graphics resources and this has got worse as the messengers come up with even fancier interfaces.

One solution might be to close MSN, open up Internet Explorer or Firefox and go to the web based version. They are generally a lot less graphically intensive and take a lot less processor power.
