I have just purchased an ATI 4850, but found out that SL can not start up on this card, which I will hear do's SL support Nvidia GTX260?

Yes, SL supports the GTX260.
There are two different types of GTX260, a 192 core model and the newer, faster 216 core model, be sure you're getting the 216 core model. _____________________
