Solution for Vista and older ATI mobility cards

Hey everyone, I posted a few days back about a way to get SL working with the Mobility 9000 chip in my Dell laptop. After some experimenting I found the solution to be installing Omega Xp drivers earlier than 6.6. That's when ATI stopped officially supporting the 9000 card, as well as many Direct X 8.X cards.

The guy who writes the Omega drivers doesn't have Vista drivers up yet, but the XP ones seem to work just fine if you go into device manager and manually update the video card, pointing it to the directory you unpacked the Omega drivers in.

There are indeed limited reports of people having success with this.

Keep in mind that there are more reports of this process causing stop errors, horrific GDI performance, and poor system stability.

Just keep that in mind.
