Hello, Just downloaded SL and impossible to launch in the program. I received this message "Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed".
I have a laptop toshiba satellite P200D. ATI Mobility HD2600 (Catalyst 8.5) Windows XP - DirectX 9.0c
Who have encountered this same problem ? I've followed advices from another posts but without any success....

It's your card, ATI runs badly inworld, if at all. There's a tonne on these forums about this. ATI is now on the unsupported list, update your card drivers, I am ATI as well. Trecherous really, but not impossable. But you need the newest ATI suite, its a few months old. Go to the ATI site.

Amusingly enough, ATI's Catalyst drivers are often considered the Achilles Heel of ATI. Alternate drivers, coded by one of ATI's testers, are available. Though intended for the overclocking crowd, Omega Drivers have yet to let me down. This fellow also makes drivers for nVidia chipsets as well.

Those drivers are actually based on the official drivers, they're just modified.

Yup,, just modified for gaming, and come with more features and options than the original set. The drivers contain optimizations, extra features (like OC capabilities), more resolutions and internal tweaks that can give them the edge in a gaming environment over the normal drivers, which are often tailored for synthetic benchmarks.
