Hi guys!
I spent some money on a new graphics card Nvidia GTX 260, but now I got severe issues with the rendering of avatars. It is obviously not the pelletrized textures issue (as I checked the recent RC 1.22 RC10) where textures are messed up, but its whole avatars missing except prim clothing they are wearing. When I zoom closer to them they suddenly appear. Furthermore when the invisible avatar appears, the previously visible prim clothing (like hair) moves to another, correct position. But it does not happen to all avatars, only some. And it can be reproduced with those avatars after relog.
Driver version is 182.08 while using Vista 64bit. Previously I used a Nvidia 7900GTX and had no issues. But the new card requires driver versions higher than version 177, so downgrade to the recommended version 175 is not possible. And switching to Vista 32bit is also not an option.
I tried almost everything: Downgraded graphics card driver, fullscreen/windowed, latest RC viewer. Has anyone another idea what could be the cause of this issue and how to fix it?
Thanks, Ansariel

Try 178.13 or 178.16.

Didn't help and solve the issue... Just installed the old card again while the 182.08 driver was installed and the issue was also there during the quick test. After resetting the graphics settings to my old settings I thought the issue has been solved. So I switched back to the new graphics card with the same settings and the issue occured again. I don't think it's the graphics card causing this problems, but what else?

It probably is not the graphics card that is causing your problem. But I think it is definitely the driver you have installed that is causing your problems. You have not told us much about your system except that you are using Vista 64. I'm not sure the same drivers for 32 bit systems will work on 64 bit systems (I use Vista 32)...........but I believe there is a good chance they will not.
What I suggest you do is what I did when I suddenly had driver issues with my new (at the time) GForce 8600GT. Go to nVidia's download site and search for older drivers. To find the older (archived) drivers you just click on the link below the search for the most recent driver box named "Archived and beta drivers" (or very close to that). Put in the requested information (including the 64 bit version of Vista). Then start at the top driver version and download it to your hard drive, then do the next one, ect.........I would go back about 6 months or so. Then do the tedious part of installing each driver one at a time, trying SL after each until you find the first one that works. You should (actually, you really need to) uninstall the previous (or driver you are replacing) each time before you install the newer one.
It can be a pain in the you know what..........but, sometimes it's necessary to get what you need.

The rest of the system is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 on a Gigabyte G945P-DS4 mainboard and 4 GB memory. As for the driver: I cannot use an older version than the 177er series as the older drivers don't support the GX260. I already tried the oldest version possible, the ones you suggested and the two most current ones. Already thinking of installing Vista from scratch and see what happens...

I have the same problem with my system. Also a GTX 260 on Vista 64. Core i7 920 with 6GB DDR3 PC3 12800 RAM on a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 board. The invisible avatars are always outside of regular chat range, and become visible either when I zoom in or we come within chat range. Not all avatars are invisible though, but roughly 50%.
This has only happened with the last couple iterations of the RC.

Indeed. It is that issue. Provided additional information there as reinstalling Vista doesn't help anything but getting me lots of work...
