Upgraded recently from the most recent RC viewer. Uninstalled both the RC and the old SL viewer, and I can't log in to SL. When it starts, I get a nice black screen with an hourglass, and it takes forever to load the initial login screen. When it does load, the login options are there, as well as the menu at the very top, but the connetions to the blog and status page are not. When I try to edit preferences, SL stops responding. I did manage to type in my password once, but I just got a login failed message. I have redownloaded the install and then re and uninstalled multiple times. Also added the SL path to my anti viral's exceptions. Did not fix it. Am I the only one with these issues?

Hello! No one has helped you yet, so heres a link to the old 1.19 viewer. You can still use the old version, just un-install the new one first. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/10_Things_You_Want_to_Know_in_Your_new_1.20_ViewerThe links to the old 1.19 viewer are at the bottom of that page. Remember not to upgrade if the client prompts you to!

Thanks, I know I can stay with the 1.19 viewer, but I'd like very much to be able to continue using the new features I got so used to while I was using the RC series.
Ah well, guess I need to just wait.

I get this problem on Vista when:
- There's more than on monitor enabled. It doesn't happen if I disable all the secondary monitors.
And/Or:
- A remote desktop client is running, connected to another computer.

I run 3 monitors with vista. I don't think that is related.

With one or several graphics cards? Nvidia cards or something else?
I have one Geforce 8800 GTS and one 7600 (I think) in my machine.

forgot to say: I fixed it by reinstalling and then just rebooting the pc.
Running the newest viewer just fine now.
