Help! I cant see where I'm going !

For the last few days I've been getting textures exploding out of my avatar when I move in closer. It seems to be getting worse, I's seeing big chunks of textures coming out of all sorts of things now. My partner isnt seeing this on her screen. Any ideas?

I'm not great with the technical side, any answers in very simple terms would be appreciated!

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, that didnt help. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell xps. Help!

Trying turning off Vertex Buffer Objects, in Preferences >> Graphics >> Hardware.
Relog after that.

I followed Dante's advice, the problem seems to have been cured....Thanks mate XX
