Hi Adrian,

Can you be specific about what video card, system, and driver version you use?

If you have an "intel", then you probably dont have a graphics card. You have a single chip embedded into your motherboard that is designed to provide you with only the most basic graphical features. SL does not support any such hardware configuration. You need a real AGP graphics card from ATi or nVidia. Preferrably nVidia. I recommend an FX5600 or better.
Good news is, you can't get one, cause if you do have an on-board graphics chip, your motherboard probably doesn't even have an AGP slot.

have a Dell, not sure on the specs on it because I didn't buy it, its my parents computer and I'm just using it until I get my own computer up and running again. I accidentally blew my video card. OOPS! I can tell you that I'm using xp os. and I know how to check to see what graphics card I have, the game was telling me that I needed new graphics drivers. So I nosed around and found some. Then when I did that, it tells me that the game has crash problems with the drivers I have and could I get different ones. (I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact words)

I can tell you that with out the drivers I could log in but it would freeze when I was almost in and then dump me to my desktop with my settings all fudged up and I would have to reboot my computer to get it working again.

The when I check my display settings, it says Intel 82845G/GL/PE/GV Graphics Controller. I'm getting the feeling that I can't play again until I get my new video card in my own computer :(

Thanks for any help!
~Adrian

Sorry I wasn't so specific last night but I was a bit tired when I posted.

have a Dell, ...

The when I check my display settings, it says Intel 82845G/GL/PE/GV Graphics Controller.
Adrian, Dell desktops with that onboard chipset are common, and the models I've seen in the last few months mostly have PCI slots (older models had AGP though) and override the onboard graphics automatically as soon as you plug in your own graphics card.

I'm currently using a Dell Dimension 2400 P4/2.8GHz which has PCI slots and no AGP, and it works fine in SL with a cheap nVidia 5200-based PCI graphics card, with not a single crash nor corruption. You can pick those cards up for $50 or less brand new, or probably $10 on eBay, but watch out for the correct bus type for your box. PCI cards are not as common as AGP ones these days.
