Hi,
Was browsing the the help db and saw the advice about the AGP driver where it said 'Be sure when you look at Adjust Display Properties->Settings->Advanced->Ti 4600 be extremely sure that bus type is listed as AGP and nothing else....'
Well, I looked and much to my horror I saw my bustype listed as 'AGP (PCI Mode).' So I went to get my AGP driver update from AMD, installed them, and also got the new nVidia drivers and installed them. So now I have it saying bustype: AGP. Hooray.
Now, however, my question. It not only says bus type AGP, but it says AGP 1X. Is it up to me to increase that '1X' or is it up to the viewer client to do that?
Thanks

What is your system? You system may only be capable of 1x, although it would have to be a fairly old system (couple years or more I think) for that to be the case. That or your video card only supports 1x.
If that is not the case then it is up to you to change it, which might mean going in the bios.

Your TI 4600 should support 4X. I would set my BIOS to 4X. Save all changes, exit, reboot and see what happens. You can always change it back if it is unsupported.

Note most new motherboards are 8x AGP... But there are still 4x out there...

Also note that all motherboards that support 8x support 4x. BUT they might not support 1x and 2x. Some do, I think most don't.

You can get a utility called NVHardPage from www.guru3d.com which will enable a few more tabs under your GeForce display properties. AGP adjustment will be one of them. Unobtrusive utility, you just extract to a dir, run the exe and toggle the tabs you want to see. It also has some presets and a wizard if you dont want to mess with the settings yourself. Pretty handy.
