Although I can't help you I know there are people here who will look at your specs if you post them, and give you some information about what's going on if they can.
Post your specs.

As said, full system specs, and are you using wireless via that router or wired ethernet?

Is doing "run - dxdiag" then saving the info the best way for the OP to proceed on Windows?

From: Lalatellia Fouroux i was using wireless, but i tried the cable as well directly but it still did the same so lets say i can have both local private wireless is rarely an issue, just an excuse for you to go away, so you had a good answer there and yes, for specs goto start -> run, and type in dxdiag bang enter on the first screen you should see an option to save all your system hardware info to a text file, it will be freakin long, all we really care about is video, cpu and memory if you want to provide the whole thing (it wont show anything bad, just hardware models and driver info) i suggest you upload it to something like rapidshare or sendspace and link to it, rather than attempt to post it here on the forums, you will pull you hair out trying to post a full dx diag log here

Sometimes...... when using Vista.. DEP can disconnect any programme using the internet, especially one that uses a QuickTime pluggin, it also borks Java by closing down IE without solution.
In the windows firewall, make sure you add every instance of SecondLife.exe in the exceptions tab, along with SLVoice (assuming you use voice).
Its absolutely a pain in the a$$, I don't have the answer other than disabling the AUC (Account User Control) which seems to help SL, doesn't help trying to load the QT player though, as I get a Error 43 (to do with ActiveX controls), which neither Apple or MS seems to offer any information on.
Personally, load up XP and run with that, Vista isn't worth the agro.
