There is a known issue with the 1.3 release and iMac's which we were not able to resolve before release this morning.
When you first enter Second Life you will encounter a black screen. To resolve this, you can type in Alt+ Enter several times, which should change you to windowed mode and back and resolve this issue.
This should only have to be done this first time. We're working to fix it in the next patch.

This didnt happen to me at all, there is one bug tho, when i click on go home from map it takes me to another parcel i own that i use just for prims, and doesnt take me to parcel i have my build on and is marked as home.

I had the same problem with my home shifting to another person's parcel. And I'm using the Windows client.

More specifically, the iMac bug only happens if you're using fullscreen mode, and we happen to pop up a dialog box during the startup process.
