Version 0.3.4 really bumped my frame rate

0.3.4 was released today, Tuesday February 18th.

The description on the announcements page is a bit understated. :-) Doug found a doozy of a rendering bug that could cut your frame rate in half after teleporting long distances. Will it help if you just log in and stand around? Not much. But if you teleport, or spend a long time in the system flying around it can improve your frame rate by 50% or more.

So... even though it's not a required update, I'd consider downloading it.

James

PS - You can check your frame rate by pressing Alt-1

Just a note (and I dont know if it associated with the new release or not)...

but I downloaded and installed the new release prior joining yesterday, only to find myself slipping into (a total of) 5 black holes one right after the other. and having version difficulties in logging in at all.

My home server was intact, and heading out of the outlands towards the populated areas some of those servers were intact, but I started hitting blackholes as soon as I passed the Outland Wall.

It didnt occure at the edge of each screen (as normal) but sometimes even in the middle, just lock up and keep flying.

Unfortunately I couldnt give a bug report, due to the fact that the only way out was to quit, and no report would generate.

OutLands yesterday were pretty laggy server side. 20fps max... The servers might have simply been missing you. hence black holes!

Are black holes when your AV takes off, with no control, and basically shoots off of the map, never to return? I had this happen once, but only ofter regular log-in hours.

yeah that's exactly what happens.

I still get it, but it must have been the lag, since it's now back to the more normal times.

the black holes arent bad save when it happens 2-5 minutes after hours (arrrrrggggggghhhhh) lol
