Major Problems

I'm really getting ticked. First I can't TP anyplace. This goes on for a couple months, and I use the alt to play around (no trouble TPing anyplace with the alt), until finally I figure it's not going to resolve itself so I send a ticket to SL, which went ignored until after I wrote again. They write back with all these suggestions. So, I log in, and without trying any of their suggestions, I can magically TP now. Go figure.

Now, I'm having troubles again (it's only been 5 days since the previous problem was magically resolved). I crash constantly... being a ball of light, I can't remove prims. So, I decided to do the latest upgrade. Wow, what a difference. I was able to finally materialize (after I TP'd to a different location - not mainland either). Now, I decide I should put shoes on, nope, Cannot complete attachment. An attachment is pending for that spot. How does something compete against nothing? So, I think maybe I should try to TP to the mainland, and after waiting 3 minutes, this is the message I get: [20:10] Unable to create requested object. The request timed out. Please try again. WOW! Was I trying to create something? NO.

I'm really getting fed up because SL spends time on stupid stuff (Dial an Avatar???? - spare me, go to Skype or Yahoo and talk free - don't waste 1200L$ per month), instead of fixing problems. Instead of fixing problems... things just get worse.

Now, here I sit... I'm a paying member, I even paid a fee for my alt (that was back in the days before all accounts were free), paying for a service that I can't even use. Instead of enjoyment, I get anger and resentment.

Ok, now what?

I have to agree. The TPs are at a 95% fail rate currently.
I was able to tp home fine anywhere I was but now even thats being fubared.
Its acting as if the requests to teleport are eather not being sent or recieved.
and ive also tryed TPing to an empty sim with nothing on...still failed

Also Stitcher I have been a paying land owner for more or little less than 6 years now. This isent the worst bug ive seen but ranks up in the top 5 most annoying but ranks top on time spent not fixed.

I am to assume its server side dew to ive tryed multible cliant varents with the same results

I and my girlfriend are having the exact problem with 95% of teleports failing. It still continues now after they claimed it was fixed in the grid status. It's really frustrating and severely limiting our participation in group events. Changing outfits and even getting naked doesn't make a difference. I really want this to get fixed asap. It wasn't a problem before the last server update.

I know this won't solve your problem, but at least you will know you're not alone:

My problem is that I go to tele and it hangs there waiting for about a min then says "contacting" and then hangs for more time. Is this all relaited to the same problem?

If there is a link on what to do to fix this I would like it, Im sort of computer lingo impaired.

If you're using an external cable modem/router with a "firewall" feature, you should disable the firewall and just use the network address translation (NAT) option. Packet filtering firewalls like this are really of little use unless the devices on the inside are directly accessible without NAT.

I wish it was as easy as a router issue but it's definitely a problem on the server end. During the week of rolling restarts for server patching to 1.27.2, I couldn't teleport to sims that had already been upgraded without making 15 or more tries. Other sims that were still running the older version worked fine. Well now they're all patched and thus I and some friends can't teleport anywhere without trying over and over a dozen times.

I've tried naked, tried mostly empty sims, and neither make any difference. I'd like to see some acknowledgment at least from Linden.

That doesn't mean it's not a router issue. The changes between the older and newer versions could easily involve a protocol change that's tickling a bug in the router.

It's not a router issue since I'm on a T3 switch; there's no NAT or routing tables involved, just a fully open pipe. I work with routing on a daily basis so a routing issue would be pretty easy for me to solve. I don't get disconnected from SL, I just get errors the destination region did not respond in a timely manner. It seems like the timeout period during the sim exchange is expiring too soon. I've had the same TP failures before the updates once in a great while and they would popup after a minute or so of waiting. These new ones timeout almost instantly.
