Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right forum, but a friend lost two parcels of land just little while ago (she is sobbing atm and can't type). Apparently she deeded it along time ago to a group that included her old bf. Recently she sent back all his stuff and she thinks that when she did that the deeded land was classified as abandoned because right now, it seems her land is owned by someone else. This is Linden land.
Can you think of anything she can do???? Any help is appreciated, I hate to see her cry!!!
Thanks,
BD

Using the "Return" feature (if that's what she did) will not cause deeded land to become abandoned. However, if the group membership fell below two people (because, for example, her boyfriend and his alt left the group), the group would be automatically disbanded rather quickly and the land would fall back into Linden hands.
She should contact support. If she is a basic member, just use one of the approved basic member ticket types and explain the problem. Do not report under a non-basic-member ticket type; it will be ignored. .

Yeah, could have been that. Does the fact that its been sold already mean hope is lost? In this case the new owner would need to get her $$$ back from LL, and I don't see that happening. I guess it's still worth the effort.
Thanks for your quick replay btw.
Cheers, BD

I'm afraid you're correct about it being hopeless. Land deeded to a group is really risky if you are not 100% confident of the members in your group......especially people with owner rights. It's always best to create at least on alt to keep your group alive if you ever decide to boot everyone. You need at least two members of the group to keep it from being deleted...........if it's deleted all property deeded to the group is either returned or abandoned (in the case of deeded land).

As the land was deeded to a group containing A and B and A returned all of B's stuff, he could well have sold the land out from "under her". I'm a bit fuzzy on the mechanics as I haven't messed with land in a long time, but B could have sold the land from the group to B for L$1 and then resold the land himself thus keeping all the profit. Since you've said "recently", I'm of the impression that this is more likely than group dissolution returning to the parcel to the LL resale queue.

I guess one way is to find out who the new owner bough the land from. I know there are work arounds here, but could be worth a try to find out if something underhanded took place. Oh well looks like my friend is up the creek. (Peggy- good hint) Thanks for all your help ; ))) BD
