Maybe this has been covered already (if so, my apologies)... but.
Evern since vers. .40 and .41 I have had textures on my house change to something other that they should be. Not all objects but most of the exterior wall panels.
Each day (or relog-in) I change them back to the proper texture, but when I come back the next login they have reverted to the same 'wrong' textures.
My corrections don't stick. What is wrong here, I have verified with other users that I am not the only one seeing the incorrect textures on my house.
Essentially my 'wood siding' texture is replaced by my 'fabric weave' texture. The fabric weave texture is used elsewhere inside my house but not on all the wall panels.
The second texture (inside house) on many of the affected panels is a 'sand' texture. It is only the external panels of my house that are affected, and they only are replaced with the fabric texture.
BTW, my house is in Lusk in Ryan Lindens housing community. I don't remember the coordinates at the moment.

I created a "window" and the texture I applied to it disappears regularly. It always reverts to the default wood. The image I had there was a photo of the Golden Gate. It was applied to the inner portion of a half round (hollow) cylinder. The property is on the edge of Minna near the welcome area on Ritch.

textures that disappear.

You are not alone.
Ever since version 4 I have textures that disappear every time I put them back on. I have tried recreating the objects, replacing the textures many, many times. This only happens to me when I am on my land in Tehama.

Yeah there is a bug with textures on some surfaces. I'm having that problem as well.

This happened at my shop in Tehama. The walls were originally a hollowed out cube. When I changed to three seperate wall primitives and applied texture, it seemed to solve the problem.
So maybe textures applied to hollowed objects are problematic.

Yep. The object walls in my house with this problem have hollowed areas for the 'windows'. The solid walls do not have this problem.

Lindens please

Okay, I'm pretty accepting of the bugs I come across cuz it's beta, and they can be worked around. None so far have been what I would even call painful.
But this texture bug is making me crazy. I make an outfit, I save it. I save it every way I can think of. It either loses textures as soon as I make an outfit, loses them when I teleport, loses them when I rez objects.
It's making me crazy. Really crazy. Really really crazy.
Is there any way at all right now to save objects so the textures will stay put?
Thanks - Kerstin

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We're looking into it today. Things that you could post here that would help us: 1) Is it one face of the object that gets switched, or all faces? 2) Is it always the same face (like "face 5" ? 3) Does the new/wrong texture that appears come from one of the other faces of the object? Or from nearby objects? Or is it random? 4) If you're a scripting type, can you use the scripting language to tell if the texture appears wrong to the scripting language vs. appears wrong visually? (I'm not sure if this can be done with the scripting language. 5) If you have an object that reliably does this, can you post the sim name and coordinates of the object? Thanks! James

For me, it is a single face of a single opject. It reverts to default. Yes it is reliable and it is in the upstairs of my shop in Minna on the border of Ritch. Sorry I do not know the coordinates by heart.

It seems to show up on hollow objects when you change the hollow side texture to something different than the rest. The new textures will disappear after awhile.
On my stuff the replacment texture just looks blank. It might be the texture from the rest of the objet but I'm not sure.

We found it!
The problem is in the display of the object. Sometimes, in complicated scenes, the client would unpack the textures onto the wrong faces.
The textures are correctly set and stored on the server -- you don't need to change them anymore.
Soon we will release a new download, version 0.4.2, that fixes this problem.

You should download version 0.4.3, which fixes a problem with object colors that we introduced in 0.4.2 But 0.4.3 seems to work quite nicely. James
