OK... been trying to log on for a while now.... anyone else having login issues?

message:

Login Failed
Due to high then usual load. Logins to second life have been temporarly disabled. We anticipate logins will be disabled for only a short time.

yes me im having problems logging in too and i want to log back in and what is up with this login failed stuff huh come on why can't they just let me login smoothy and stay on instead of having to wait to log in for like i don't know untill someone else log out

also and for how long this will be disabled the login hmmmmm like 2 hours 3 hours 5 hours 10 hours it's going right now 5:20pm and i try to login around 4;45pm

Based on extensive analysis of the message: "Due to high then usual load. Logins to second life have been temporarly disabled. We anticipate logins will be disabled for only a short time", I would conjecture that there is some chance that logins have been temporarily disabled due to a higher than usual load.

Unfortunately things have changed since I started this post, there is a new and worse message,

From: someone

Login failed.
Due to problems with a central server, logins to Second Life are currenty disabled: Watch http://status.secondlifegrid.net for updates.

This leads me to suspect some kind of problem with a central server requiring logins to be disabled.

[UPDATE 2:22pm PDT] Residents are reporting trouble opening tickets to Support.

[UPDATE 1:46pm PDT] Land Store and logins are again temporarily disabled while Operations addresses load.

[UPDATE 12:32pm PDT] Land Store is back online.

[UPDATE 12:20pm PDT] Logins are re-enabled. We’ll monitor for a few minutes before we turn Land Store back on.

Logins are likely to be slow for the next few minutes. Please try to ride one login effort all the way through, rather than canceling and restarting the login. That’ll keep your place in the queue.

[UPDATE 12:12 PM PDT] The Land Store has also been temporarily disabled.

We’ve momentarily blocked logins to correct a load issue in the login process. We’ll have them open again ASAP.

disabled logins

it was fun to watch how the online population climbed from 62000 to 65000 while the logins are disabled... what is telling is that it seems that the infrastructure has not been grown to keep pace with the load demands as the population increased.

Remind me why I should pay for the "premuim" account? Perhaps so I can have the pleasure of not being able to log in when I want to? Or for the fun of not have my avatar rez at all once I do login?

Cant log in, they tell me that logins are disabled, but the status side reports:

Second Life is Open

The Second Life Grid and the Second Life web site are open.

How funny is that^^

log in failure

I have been unable to log in since yesterday afternoon. I submitted a ticket about it but have heard absolutely nothing! I only got the server overload message twice; the rest of the time, it looks like it's going to work but then gives me the error message that the log in failed and that my account will not be available until ... whenever. It usually gives a gap of about 2-4 minutes. Still no luck. WTH?!?

Wow. And now I'm time traveling ... according to the date/time stamp, I posted this message at 10:40PM tonight which is, like, 4 hours from now.

Unable to login to BETA Grid ...

I'm not having a problem getting into the main SL Grid but I can't seem to log into the BETA Grid, I'm getting an error message saying:

"Login Failed.
Please make sure your Caps Lock key is off, and that you have the correct account name and password."

Ok well I'm able to log into the main SL grid using the same information I'm using on the beta login, yet I still can't get in. I don't have my caps lock key on and I know my password is correct because I've changed it twice just to ensure I'm using the right one. Is anyone else having a problem with this and if so, do you know of a work around?

I'm trying to load some textures to see if they're accurate (I'm already using DAZ and the SLCP program to layout my textures), but the uploaded textures don't always look 100% accurate to the two programs I'm using (especially on the male model, female model is almost always 100% accurate) when I upload to SL; so I'm trying to load the textures into the BETA grid to avoid a L$10 surcharge to fix mistakes.

If anyone has any advice on a solution to this problem then I'm all for hearing it!
