For the last week or so my SL has been super slow. Like I have a bad server as is at peak time, but it's really slow now all day. TP's are failing, things are failing to rez. Wont even let me change my appearance today, I keep getting an error which says ''can't edit appearance until shape and clothes are loaded''....but this is half an hour into me logging in.
I rebooted my router yesterday, contacted my service provider and they said all is well.
All my setting are on low, and i cleared my cache this morning, so unless SL is having unusually high rate of people online, I can't explain it.
any ideas?

Crixie, sounds just like me......no land permissions no media, no groups, crashing on TP and textures not loading. On top of this SL is crawlingly slow. 200%+ packetloss at times ????? I am GMT, it has been bad every evening till after 11 PM but now its all day....and of course no comments on the grid status page. I've reloaded, rebooted routers, banned everyone in the house offline and contacted my ISP...Ieven lowered the MTU in windows and on my router to no avail

:\ been experiencing some of the same myself... i found that changing my shoes helped! ;0 you may have a 'bad' pair of shoes, or wig, or some other attachment (esp. if it uses invisiprims)... maybe test it out removing some items, one by one. if anything specific seems naughty, try contacting the original maker and see if you can exchange it for a replacement...

Exactly the same problem as me Raven. Can't all be my server if they're claiming it's all good. sigh. Getting tired of having to sit up till 11pm for it to kick back in again lol. Nyoko - Really I didn't know that could cause problems, shall try it thankyou

:0 hey, survey-time... what kind of connection are you slooow folks on? i'm on cable... :\
p.s. asking because i just went to a quiet place, stripped nekkid and no attachments, and watching the stats bar window, -still- getting incredible 'off the charts' packet loss, like once a minute. and a friend i was just confiring with says she is having nooo probs like that, but is not on cable... i would just expect this loss to be consistent, whether it was cable connection or server...

SL has been slower then ever all over the grid for me recently with continued dropping of my connection over the past few days. Normally I stay logged in 24/7 if i can as it makes it easier for me to get all the messages people send me for my business. Yesterday I spent a lot of time replacing 512x512 textures I had around my sim with 256x256 ones thinking maybe that might help thinks load a bit faster. However, That didn't help. Today I just looked in the stats view and I am seeing around 10-50% packet loss constantly. I ma not what they are using to show that number as my router is not indicating and packet loss or framing errors of any kind. I guess this is just more of the same "ignore the man behind the curtian" business that I've come to expect from SL. As there are no postings of any issues over the past few days on the grid status blog. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/If I had to guess I'd say there is some kind of issue with the new LLNet. For those that would like the info: I have rebooted my cable modem & router. Rebooted my 3 computers. Dumped SL cache on all said computers. Cable internet form Comcast that is suppose to be 16Mb/2Mb. My router logs are not showing any packet or framing errors. I am on the Eastern US coast. However, I am not having any issues with anything besides SL at the moment. Also in the 16minutes I've taken to write this I am still waiting for things to rez on my sim. So far the grass looks nice and I am a lovely shade of solid gray(or grey). Looks like it's been holding pretty solid around 40% packet loss the whole time too. edit: Just remembered over the past few days I have been seeing a lot of lag spikes on my sim in the Physics, Sim FPS, & time dilation. time dilation going into the 0.70's at times. Which is not normal for my sim. Esp. since nothing has changed in the past few weeks.

I spoke to my ISP and SL about this and they keep blaming each other.... so who is telling the truth?
Well from my point of view, unless any of you are in the UK and on sky broadband... well... you catch my drift!

Well from my point of view, unless any of you are in the UK and on sky broadband... well... you catch my drift! I am experiencing exactly the same as the others above, and I am not in the UK. I have measured my upload and download speeds, and all is OK, and I can play other Virtual Worlds with no problem. When LL blames the ISP and the ISP blames LL, do you really need to ask who is telling the truth? Rock

Ditto on all of the above. Plus on some of the same sims I experience the grey and lag on - others are too - and they are on different continents then I am!
Some sims are fine - about 1/3 aren't though.

Something I put in another post I should have included in this one "It's not just you. Reports of this from people all over. Friend of mine that live in CA rather near LL in San Fan, several people in Scotland, central US, and Eastern US. Either there is a central routing point taking a dump or something is broken again. I'd put my money on the 2nd one tho. If you select View > Stats Bar. You might noticed the value for Packet Loss jumping up." I am guessing that this is related to the issue the posted today on the status blog http://status.secondlifegrid.net/[UPDATE] Small Portion of Grid Inaccessible Posted by Status Desk on June 2nd, 2009 at 10:14 am PDT [UPDATE 10:14am PST] While work continues on resolving this issue in entirety, the affected regions are being restored one at a time. Please watch this blog for any further information. We are aware that there is a small portion of the grid that is currently inaccessible (can’t log in, can’t tp there, etc). Our engineers are currently working to correct the situation. Please watch this blog for further information. While on today I've noticed the ping time to the sims is much higher then normal as well as the high packet loss.

I seem to have a choice, randomly selected, of whether I actually get to see the world (nothing wants to rezz, and it sometimes takes several minutes for just the terrain to appear) and whether I want to be able to change clothing, attachments, etc (Items have been known to time out before attaching, or take next to forever to do so). This only started happening since the weekend. I would bet money that this is a server side issue, not a client side one. I go to SL to get away from the troubles of the real world, and so now, I get a whole new heap of infuriating frustration instead. Typical.

Same here ... things are taking forever to rez (literally, as sometimes they never do), and it's creating problems for those of us who are merchants. I was taking someone around the mall area outside our flagship store (Babele Fashion) yesterday, and both she and I weren't seeing textures rez ... and I'm on the US east coast and she's in France, so that might say something. Not easy to make sales when all of your vendors are gray!

i was having some of these issues . but not as badly as described here. anyway i decided to try out the new emerald . greenlife viewer and the lag issue improved greatly. but i dont know if that is the problem u are all having. u can download the green life viewer and put it on your desktop and if u dont like it u can go back to the other viewer. i switch between both and it seems like the green life runs alot smoother for some reason
