I Have Become a White Cloud of Whispy Air

In *Appearance* - it has been greyed out. Last thing I did before this happened was attempt to change my hair style. Then - BAM and POOF and here I am a white cloud.

Please help.

Most of the time a cache clearing and relog will fix that problem. Go to Preference>Network and find the "clear cache" buttom Click it, OK out fo the dialog box and relog.

If that does not work then shut down your computer and reset your modem/router. Unplug both devices from their electrical source and wait, at least, 2 mins (5 is better). Plug back in and boot back up.

Those are generally the most common sources of the issue you have........not the only possible source though. Some computer specs will help for any other suggestions.

Some computer specs might help people give you useful answers.

In the meantime you might try deleting your settings file.

Don't know what operating system, thus can't give instructions on how to do that.

You can probably find the directions by putting

second life wiki delete settings file

or some such into Google, I mean, into a search engine.

Also, you might try clearing your cache, (preferences / network, clear cache, restart SL) , then do Advanced / Character Tests, Test Male or Test Female.

Then maybe try going back to your regular av.

Happened to several people before that were stuck in a cloud. You can try to get support from LL but this may take you a long time if you have a free account.

If the cloud persists one way to fix it is to reset your AV. To do this go to Advanced menu (CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D), character, character test and then select either test male or test female. That will reset your AV to the default settings and you will look like newly born . You will lose the shape you wear but that's corrupted anyway. Hope that helps.
