Is it possible to get a old name back?
I use to be here a while ago and had to leave because of the low speed net, but now back on high speed so back in world under this name. I did a search on my old name, and it doesn't show up. Just asking because I'm missing all my old avs and if there was a way of getting them back I wouldn't mind doing it. I spent enough money on them and not really wanting to rebuy them.

I think that as long as you can remember the name and password you're OK.

I know the old name, pw, email etc, but nothing. When I did a full name search, it never showed my old name at all.

They have a password recovery mechanism. It involves actually calling them up and talking to them.

I've also heard that you need to be able to recall the name of some SL friends too if you contact Linden.
Good luck Metal

Calling is a problem for me. I'm a Aussie and it costs a bit calling overseas. But will see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestions.

Tell me about it. I'm an expatriate. It's not any cheaper calling back the other way to talk to my folks.

Or I like how Linden Labs assumes maybe everyone can speak. I'm sure this is a problem for mute people too. It's a problem with a lot of games though these days.

I prefer to email people about problems on sites rather than waiting around for someone to be on to speak to them in world. Which is really funny. With the size of the company and the amount of people that log in each day, wouldn't you expect them to beable to have people in world around the clock to help people out.
Anyways, if anyone knows any email addresses of the Linden workers, could you send me a message ingame so I can see what can be done.
Thanks for the replies everyone.

LL isn't making any assumptions there, deaf/mute people can very easily use the telephone with speaking users. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecommunications_Relay_Service
