I don't know if this is a bug I should report or what. I was on SL just now and I got a window in my screen with what looked like an ad... maybe. I'm not even sure what it was. It was just a window with some weird writing and the name of a company and a phone #. It wasn't an error window or anything, and there was no way to get rid of it. I had to relog. Then, when I went back to the same sim it did it again. I don't know if it does it anywhere else... I'll have to try. (eta: nope, it's just that one sim so far as i can tell)

If it ever happens again take a screenshot. I've never heard of such a thing.

I tried to take a screenshot but the window in question didn't appear in it. I'm not sure why. I haven't gone back to that sim because it concerned me. I went ahead and reported it as a bug.

What did you do to try to take a screenshot? Did you use the SL snapshot function?
You might try taking a screenshot by pressing Print Screen, which will copy the print screen onto the clipboard, then running Paint or another image editing program like Photoshop, Gimp, Paint.net, Corel Photopaint, Paintshop Pro, or an image utility program like Irfanview. You should be able to either create a new file and paste the image into the new file, or create a file from the clipboard.
Also if it happens again you might write down exactly what it says so you can post it here.
Also where does it happen at?
