Ok, quick...
When you shift-copy an object in the edit window, which object is the copy? The object you're moving, or the one that stays behind?
You'd think it's the one you're moving, right? After all, the shift-copy command would SEEM to make you think "Make a copy and move it here"...
But no! Shift-Copy moves the ORIGINAL, and leaves a copy behind!
I ran into this problem when trying to test a beta script I'm working on. I kept expecting the copy to be on the object I was moving. It wasn't till I spent about thirty minutes re-copying objects that I figured out this behaviour..
My question is... Is this considered a 'bug' by anyone else?

Maybe so. I am used to dealing with this behavior, I guess. Also, be sure to double check the general details and permissions on both the original and copy when you make copies.

I was surprised by the behavior as well. I expected the copy I was moving to be, well... the copy =)
No big deal though, in the end it doesn't make too much difference.

It never really mattered to me. I always thought the object that stayed behind was the copy anyway.
You can kind of see the system copying the object if you do it fast, Click the arrow, hold shift, and like, yank that object a few meters on the axis, and you can see a new object fading in at the spot the old one was at.
Easier to see on laggy sims.

it takes a bit of getting used to
And is a pain when you select individual in a linked set and move
When will we get Array, Clone, Instance options
And SHift Rotate etc
Man that would be heaven !
