Last night, Feb 25th, Catherine Omega talked me through 'open case surgery' where i had to move around plugs in my computer from the video to the power supply, thus fixing that nasty message that would popup telling me the video card wasn't getting enough power. I think I wrongly attributed the problem to changes in SL versions, especially since the problem had stopped until the update 2 days ago - which for me confirmed the problem was SL! But it wasn't. Thank you Catherine Omega *HUGS* you are grand No way my inhouse geek was going to do anything to help me fix the computer since the only thing affected was SL. Briana Dawson

Well... technically, Briana, it wasn't just SL that was affected, it was that your video card wasn't being COOLED. That's a much bigger issue, since if your video fan isn't running, your video chip is in danger of frying.
You might want to pass that along to your in-house geek.

That's something I've been wondering about myself, actually. When I got my GeForce 4 440 it had an extra cable, which wasn't mentioned in the installation instructions. I found out that it connects to the motherboard and powers the fan, but whenever I plugged it in my computer wouldn't work properly, and after the first time of trying it I found that my IDE cable nolonger worked for the second port, meaning I could only have one hard drive on that cable.
So I've left the fan unplugged.
